Extern Rotations Available at UPMC Horizon

UPMC Horizon is made up of two facilities: Shenango Valley and Greenville.

The hospital offers the following extern rotations for medical students:

  • Internal medicine and subspecialties
  • General surgery and subspecialties
  • Family practice
  • Pediatrics
  • Emergency medicine
  • Physical rehabilitation
  • Obstetrics and gynecology

Physical rehabilitation and some surgical rotations are done at the Greenville facility. Some rotations are done at both hospital campuses, so traveling may be required.

You must schedule elective rotations in advance — in any of the above disciplines and their subspecialties — subject to approval by the attending.
