UPMC Horizon receives three-year accreditation from Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program
FARRELL AND GREENVILLE, February 1, 2012– UPMC Horizon’s two hospital campuses and affiliated locations have been granted a three-year re-accreditation from the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The accreditation comes as a result of an onsite survey that examined 1,200 measurement standards.
“UPMC Horizon’s re-accreditation by HFAP affirms our hospital's commitment to high quality patient care and continues to reflect our dedication to offering our community the consistently high standard of care expected from university-affiliated community teaching hospitals,” says Don Owrey, UPMC Horizon president.
HFAP is one of only three national voluntary accreditation programs authorized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to survey hospitals for compliance with the Medicare Conditions of Participation for Hospitals.
UPMC Horizon is also accredited by the Joint Commission.
