​UPMC Horizon Honors Graduating Residents

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP, June 11, 2013– Five residents recently completed the Graduate Medical Education Program at UPMC Horizon and were recognized at a dinner June 7 at Park Inn by Radisson, Shenango Township.

This year’s graduating residents include:

  • Park Bateson, DO, family medicine. Dr. Bateson completed his undergraduate education at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio and earned his medical degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Lewisburg, W.V. He will start a new practice in Farrell this July.
  • Gregory Clabeaux, DO, general surgery. Dr. Clabeaux completed his undergraduate education at Buffalo State College, Buffalo, N.Y., and earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie.  Dr. Clabeaux will soon begin a fellowship in vascular surgery at the Catholic Health System in Buffalo.
  • Nicole Geissen, DO, general surgery. Dr. Geissen completed her undergraduate education at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and earned her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She will soon begin a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
  • Matthew Lisk Sr., DO, internal medicine. Dr. Lisk completed his undergraduate education at Grove City College and earned his medical degree from Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, Pikeville, Ky. He will join the medical staff of Butler Memorial Hospital as a member of the hospitalist practice of Butler Hospital Care Associates.
  • Catherine Novosel, DO, family medicine. A graduate of West Middlesex Area High School, Dr. Novosel completed her undergraduate education at Westminster College, New Wilmington, and earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She will join Horizon Family Medicine-UPMC in October.

The Graduate Medical Education Program is under the direction of Jerome Bonier, DO, orthopaedic surgeon. Faculty include Aaron Listopad, DO, and Kary Schroyer, DO, family medicine; Jon Henwood, DO, and Christopher Esper, DO, general surgery; and Frederick Uberti, DO, and Roy Sartori, DO, internal medicine.
