Patient Care
The inpatient orthopaedics units at both UPMC Horizon campuses are designed to guide patients from their initial physician office visit to their post-operative care. A liaison first meets with the patient in the physician’s office and helps the patient navigate through the system, offering information on pre-operative testing, pre- and post-operative education, and family needs, as well as a tour of the unit.
After surgery, patients have access to physical therapy and rehabilitation programs offered at both the Greenville and Shenango Valley campuses. The UPMC Horizon Pain Management Center, also located at both campuses, offers an array of pain-control options including epidural injections, nerve block injections, acupuncture, neurostimulation, and pain pumps.
