Patients whose pregnancies are considered high-risk due to conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, or diabetes, or women carrying multiple babies may need the expertise of a maternal fetal medicine specialist. Because UPMC Horizon offers local access to maternal fetal medicine subspecialists from Magee-Womens Hospital at the Womancare Center of UPMC Horizon in Hermitage, women in UPMC Horizon's service area do not need to travel far for appointments and consultations.
