"It's a Great Day for a New Baby!" Newborn Box

Beginning in fall 2015, Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC partnered with the Pittsburgh Penguins to welcome your new arrival with a special gift box to help your baby get ready for his or her first hockey season!

As the official women’s health provider of the Pittsburgh Penguins, we’re proud to offer babies born at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC and most other UPMC hospitals with an “It’s A Great Day for a New Baby” box that includes:

  • Penguins themed onesie and bib
  • Special penguin hooded towel and washcloth set

This season’s program kicked off with a playoff celebration on April 12, 2017 and will run through the spring of 2018. While box delivery varies by hospital, all babies (including babies in the NICU) born in the following UPMC hospitals will receive an “It’s A Great Day For a New Baby” box through next spring:

Submit a photo of your little one showing off their Penguins pride for a chance to be featured as our #greatday4ababy “Baby Penguin of the Week”! 

We’ll randomly select winners on a bi-weekly basis. If your baby is selected, he or she will be featured on all UPMC social media channels, the Pittsburgh Penguins Twitter account, and on the digital signage boards inside PPG Paints Arena. 

To ensure your submission has the best chance to win, please submit a high-quality image of your “Baby Pen” in their black and gold!

How to Enter:

The Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC Facebook Form: Submit your baby’s first name, weight, and photo using the form found on the Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC Facebook​. This must be done on a desktop computer.


Twitter or Instagram: Share your baby’s first name and photo using the hashtag #greatday4ababy.
