Postpartum Care at Magee

Except in very special situations, you and your baby will spend the rest of your hospital stay on one of Magee's two postpartum units, where the contemporary comfort of the Labor, Delivery, and Recovery Rooms continues into the earliest days after birth.

Here, your baby is protected by a multi-level, state-of-the-art infant security system.

Breastfeeding Support

The certified experts in Magee's Lactation Center are available to:

  • Provide private, one-on-one breastfeeding consultation
  • Help you choose breastfeeding options that are right for you
  • Answer your questions and offer the latest, evidence-based information on breastfeeding

During the postpartum stay, your other children are welcome to visit and be introduced to their new sibling. Your support person is welcome to stay with you around-the-clock.

Room Service

While in the hospital, you and visiting family members can enjoy Room Service. Order the food you want when you want it from a comprehensive breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. Celebratory dinners also are available for celebrating the special occasion of your baby's birth.

Postpartum Depression Resources

The experts in the Womancare Behavioral Health Program can provide educational materials and resources to help with the trying times that can be triggered by the hormonal changes of childbirth and the adjustment to parenthood.‚Äč
