UPMC Mercy Burn Center: Celebrating 50 Years

In 1967, Pennsylvania’s first burn center opened at UPMC Mercy. Fifty years later, we are nationally recognized for our work at the forefront of burn patient care, education, research and prevention.

As we celebrate this milestone, the UPMC Mercy Burn Center salutes the tens of thousands of burn patients and their families we have served. Their remarkable stories of courage continually inspire us to achieve even greater innovations and advancements in patient care and recovery.
