UPMC Mercy Trauma Center annually hosts an event to support and encourage fellowship among our patients and their families and promotes educational and injury prevention programs in the community.

UPMC Mercy Trauma Survivors Day Celebration

Each year in May, UPMC Mercy Trauma Center helps to observe National Trauma Awareness Month and National Trauma Survivors Day through its Trauma Survivors Day Celebration. At this special event, trauma survivors treated during the last year are invited to reunite with members of their care team, including doctors and nurses. The celebration includes a range of activities and a luncheon.

Community Education and Outreach

The UPMC Mercy Trauma Center offers a variety of prevention programs tailored to meet the needs of various groups or organizations. To request a program at your school, contact UPMC Mercy Trauma Center at 412-232-8375.

Emergency and Trauma Nurses CARE (Cancel Alcohol-Related Emergencies) Program

Each year, the UPMC Mercy Trauma Center treats young adults who have been injured in car accidents — often involving alcohol. This drinking and driving prevention program is targeted at junior and senior high school students to help them understand the long-term implications of driving under the influence.​
