Giving to UPMC Northwest

Northwest Hospital Foundation

The sole purpose of the Northwest Hospital Foundation is to support UPMC Northwest in its mission to provide high-quality health care for area residents. Funds from the foundation exclusively support UPMC Northwest.

Among the foundation's most visible projects are:

  • Its annual appeal, through which it receives funds for new equipment and other capital projects
  • Development of an endowment to cover future capital costs for UPMC Northwest
  • Provision of grants for current capital projects and health awareness, prevention, and education programs

The foundation provided 144 acres of land for construction of UPMC Northwest's new hospital in Seneca, made a multi-million dollar contribution toward development and construction costs, designated the proceeds of two annual appeal fund-raising campaigns for equipment and/or services not included in the construction budget, and launched the Branching Out campaign, which produced gifts of more than 200 trees to beautify the new hospital grounds.
