Digital Mammography Services at UPMC Northwest

UPMC Northwest is pleased to offer digital mammography services in three convenient locations – our hospital campus in Seneca and our Magee–Womens Specialty Services at UPMC Northwest offices in Franklin and Clarion.

The American Cancer Society recommends women ages 35 to 40 have a baseline mammogram and women age 40 and older receive annual mammograms. Having a digital mammogram provides many benefits, including:

  • A more accurate picture, especially for women ages 50 and older or who have dense breast tissue.
  • Faster imaging and readings. Most screening mammograms only take about 15 minutes. Results are typically available within 24 hours unless prior films have been taken at an outside facility.
  • The ability for your doctors to share images, ensuring continuity of care.

Breast Care Program at UPMC Northwest

Digital mammography is part of the multidisciplinary Breast Care Program at UPMC Northwest, which includes board-certified radiologists who read your mammogram results.
