To protect our patients, visitors, and staff from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke, smoking is not permitted anywhere on UPMC property. All UPMC hospitals, facilities, and grounds, including parking lots and garages, are smoke-free as of July 1, 2007. UPMC has no designated smoking areas. If you choose to smoke, you cannot do so on the UPMC campus. A patient who smokes does so against our advice and assumes the risk for any consequences.
If you love music and find that it comforts and strengthens you, a beside hymn could be just the thing for you. Call Volunteer Services at 412-367-6581 and a volunteer singer will honor your request as soon as it can be arranged.
The Public Safety Department strongly recommends that patient valuables be taken home or given to a family member. If this is not possible, please ask your nurse to assist you in having your items placed in the cashier’s safe until a family member can retrieve them. The hospital will not take responsibility for lost items.
Vending machines are located on the ground floor near the elevator lobby.
