Medical Oncology

Medical oncology services at UPMC Cancer Center at UPMC Passavant provide a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing and treating cancer.

To develop an individualized, comprehensive treatment plan for each patient, medical oncologists work closely with referring physicians and leading experts in radiation and surgical oncology, pathology, and diagnostic radiology.

Patients also have access to the latest drug therapies and clinical trials through UPMC Cancer Centers’ collaboration with UPCI.

Radiation Oncology

Radiation oncologists at UPMC Cancer Center at UPMC Passavant use the latest radiation oncology technologies to tailor treatments to each patient’s specific needs, based on the type of cancer and its location and size.

Surgical Oncology

Surgical oncologists at UPMC Cancer Center at UPMC Passavant specialize in all types of cancers, including:

Advanced surgical oncology procedures performed at UPMC Cancer Center at UPMC Passavant include:

  • Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemoperfusion (HIPEC)
  • Intraperitoneal (IP) chemotherapy
  • Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE)

UPMC Cancer Center at UPMC Passavant also offers state-of-the-art robotic surgical procedures via the da Vinci ® Surgical System – a robotic platform that provides enhanced visualization and dexterity, allowing our surgeons to perform complex procedures with smaller incisions and ultimately less recovery time for the patient.

Gynecologic oncology
If surgical removal of a tumor is necessary to treat a patient’s gynecologic cancer, our gynecologic oncologists perform the latest techniques in the site’s state-of-the-art surgical facility.
