The Telepsychiatry Program at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC brings world-class specialists to rural and underserved communities in Pennsylvania.

One of the Largest and the First Telepsychiatry Programs

Our program is one of the largest academic-affiliated telepsychiatry programs in the nation.

We're also one of the first major academic hospitals to offer telepsychiatry services to assess and treat people throughout the region.

The Telepsychiatry Program by the numbers:

  • 12,000 consults a year.
  • 14 board-certified psychiatrists and growing.
  • 10 locations in Pa.
  • More than 10 years of telepsychiatry experience.

Currently, the Telepsychiatry Program contracts with behavioral health agencies and medical centers throughout Pa. where psychiatry services are limited.

We offer children, teens, and adults:

  • Psychiatric evaluations
  • Medication management
  • Long-term care

The Telepsychiatry Program at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC is a leader in telehealth.

The Child and Adolescent Bipolar Spectrum Services Clinic (CABS) uses telehealth, when appropriate.
