UPMC Presbyterian Receives 1999 Consumer Choice Award by National Research Corporation
PITTSBURGH, October 1, 1999 — University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s UPMC Presbyterian Hospital has been named a 1999 Consumer Choice Award winner by the National Research Corporation.
Each year, the National Research Corporation, which performs healthcare performance measurements, honors the U.S. hospitals in 105 metropolitan areas most preferred by consumers for overall healthcare services. The award is based on a national survey of more than 170,000 households.
According to the National Research Corporation, the consumer assessment is the most comprehensive in the industry by taking into account hospital image and preference ratings, health plan, physician and hospital satisfaction assessments, health status and chronic condition profiles, and consumer trust and confidence in healthcare.
The winners of the award will be announced in the October 4 issue of Modern Healthcare Magazine.
