
UPMC Health Plan Introduces New "Healthy for LifeStyles" Program
PITTSBURGH (June 7, 2004) UPMC Health Plan is pleased to announce that one of the country's leading providers of a nationwide network of complementary health and wellness practitioners American WholeHealth Networks Inc. has been selected as the exclusive provider for UPMC for Life's new "Healthy for LifeStyles" program. UPMC for Life's family of products are offered to those eligible for Medicare.
As part of the program, UPMC for Life members will enjoy free membership in any fitness center that is part of American WholeHealth's extensive network. If a club's membership fees include admission to specific programs such as Yoga, Tai Chi, or Pilates members can participate at no additional charge. Members are NOT required to participate in senior exercise classes to join a fitness center.
In addition, magazines that promote a healthy lifestyle and diet, such as "Fitness," "Health," and "Cooking Light," are available to members at 45-75 percent off the newsstand price. Members also receive special members-only access to American WholeHealth's award-winning website, "WholeHealthMD," which contains a variety of items including information about preventive health, nutrition, and overall wellness, including healthy recipes and fitness resources.
