Hamot Medical Center Joins UPMC for Life Network

PITTSBURGH (December 1, 2005)UPMC Health Plan and Hamot Health Foundation have reached an agreement that adds Hamot Medical Center of Erie to the Health Plan's growing UPMC for Life network of contracted facilities and physicians.

Beginning today, Hamot Medical Center becomes a participating provider for all of UPMC for Life's Medicare Advantage products, including its HMO and PPO. Hamot became a participating provider for UPMC Health Plan's commercial products in 2003.

Hamot Medical Center is a 336-bed tertiary care facility located on Erie's Bayfront. The hospital offers comprehensive, integrated, state-of-the-art health care. The facility is supported by an active staff of more than 200 physicians representing most medical specialties as well as more than 2,000 nurses, technologists, therapists, and other personnel.

Not all of the physicians affiliated with Hamot are in the UPMC for Life network. If you have a question about whether a specific physician is in the network please go to "Provider Search" at www.upmchealthplan.com.
