Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC Announces Summer Community Education Calendar

PITTSBURGH, May 25, 2010 – Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC offers classes for children and adults at several locations throughout the greater Pittsburgh area. Registration for classes is required. For more information, or to register, call (412) 692-7105 or email commed@chp.edu.

Babysitting 101 ($35/Student)

Boys and girls ages 11 and up can learn about safety for themselves and the children in their care,  including first aid basics and choking rescue techniques, as well as child development and routine daily care.

CPR (Infant and Child, $30/Student)

For parents and other adults. American Heart Association’s Family and Friends non-certification course. Learn proper emergency responses and how to save an infant or child.

Alone at Home ($10/Family)

Children ages 10 and up with their parent(s). Physical and emotional readiness, appropriate behaviors and creation of a family safety plan for children home alone.
