Steelers Take to the Hoops for 16th Annual Hoops for a Cure
WHAT: Hoops for a Cure, the 16th annual charity basketball event to benefit the Nathan S. Arenson Fund for Pancreatic Cancer Research at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI).
WHO: The Pittsburgh Steelers and all-star talent from the AAAA Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL).
WHEN: Friday, April 15. The Section 4 All-Stars vs. the AAAA WPIAL All-Stars will play in the first game, beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Steelers vs. Chartiers Valley Alumni and Special Guests in the final game of the evening at 8 p.m. Those who wish to attend the games will be charged an entrance fee of $7.
WHERE: Chartiers Valley High School, 50 Toms Run Road, Bridgeville.
WHY: To help build support for pancreatic cancer research―a cancer that is difficult to diagnose and treat―through the Nathan S. Arenson Fund for Pancreatic Cancer Research. Proceeds will be donated to support the research efforts of Olivera Finn, Ph.D., a director of UPCI’s Cancer Immunology, Immunotherapy and Immunoprevention Program.
