Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community Announces Employee Scholarship Winners

PITTSBURGH,  August 23, 2012 – Residents at the Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community, a UPMC Senior Community, have awarded 47 employees $1,000 scholarship grants for the 2012-2013 school year for dedication to higher education in college, vocational schools or accredited training programs.
 
The scholarship program idea originated with the residents themselves, who wanted to reward dedicated employees by helping them with tuition payments show their appreciation for their hard work and help them fulfill their ambitions. These employees serve in food service, personal care and housekeeping.
 
Currently in its 12th year of operation, the program is made possible through generous donations of Sherwood Oaks residents, their friends and families. The fund has distributed $371,359 since its inception.
 
The 2012 employee scholarship recipients are as follows: Chad Albert, Simon Brown, Anna Brunette, Sarah Cave, Brennan Clouner, Jennifer Cwik, Brandon Dalonzo, Kailey Dalonzo, Andrew Driscoll, Courtney Ebaugh, Kathleen Elkin, Michael Farah, Kevin Farinelli, Kyle Frishkorn, Hallie Ganch, Kristen Gorman, Krista Healey, Carlin Hillier, Joshua Hixson, Sarah Holzer, Courtney Jones, Katherine Jones, Jordan King, Lindsey Kordas, Rebekah Lane, Jena Leddon, Daniel Limbacher, Deanna Magiske, Max McCloskey, Matthew Melnyk, Jessica Meyers, Steven Moon, Ashley Olinger, Michael Paine, Zachary Panos, Katie Pope, Phillip Poupore, Taylor Puskar, Kerry Reed, Paige Rogers, Charles Schade, Mitchell Schall, Morgan Schall, Thomas Schorr, Lyndsay Shackelford, Nolan Shackelford, and Courtney Stephany.
