UPMC Names Tyler Haney as Vice President of Digital Strategy

PITTSBURGH, April 20, 2012 – Tyler Haney has joined UPMC as the Vice President of Digital Strategy. Mr. Haney comes to UPMC from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where he led digital marketing efforts as the director of Interactive Marketing and Digital Strategy.

In this newly created position, Mr. Haney is responsible for creating and implementing a strategic plan to increase UPMC’s digital presence, including branding and design in synergy with traditional media, search engine optimization and marketing, data analytics and email marketing. He and his team are responsible for leveraging new communications strategies to highlight UPMC’s emphasis on clinical excellence, collaborative care and innovative technology.

Mr. Haney has been a leader in health care digital marketing for over 12 years. He received a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University and a master’s degree from the University of Kentucky. He was a contributing author to The Thought Leaders Project: Hospital Marketing and frequently participates as an instructor or presenter at industry events.
