
UPMC East Hosts Open House June 16
PITTSBURGH, June 7 – Residents of Pittsburgh’s eastern suburbs will get the chance to tour the inside of their new community hospital, UPMC East, before it opens, at a free open house for the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 16. To attend the open house, people must register online at www.UPMCEast.com/OpenHouse.
Located at 2775 Mosside Blvd. in Monroeville, UPMC East is set to open July 2, providing world-class patient care close to home for residents of the Monroeville area. The brand new 156-bed, state-of-the-art hospital will serve the growing needs of the communities east of Pittsburgh. The hospital was designed with the latest technology and environmentally efficient construction, providing a wide range of inpatient services in a comfortable setting that puts the patient and family at the center of care. The new community hospital will work synergistically with the nearby comprehensive outpatient services that UPMC has long provided in Monroeville.
June 16 tour attendees can take a one-hour, self-guided tour of the new hospital, including private patient rooms, the Emergency Department, surgical suites and other hospital departments. Light refreshments will be served. For comfort, tour attendees are urged to wear comfortable walking shoes. Free parking will be available on-site in the hospital parking garage, which can be accessed via Fox Plan Road.
