
UPMC Holds Second Annual International Telemedicine Symposium
WHAT: UPMC’s second annual International Telemedicine Symposium
WHO: Course directors Bruno Gridelli, M.D., medical and scientific director of UPMC’s International and Commercial Services Division, and John Williams, M.D., associate medical director, as well as medical practitioners, hospital management, technology industry leaders and university faculty from around the world
WHEN: June 6 to 8, 2012
WHERE: Brussels, Belgium
WHY: Medical experts and technologists from around the world will discuss the rapidly changing field of telemedicine, or eHealth, and examine best practices in applying this technology to improve both access to and the quality of patient care. The theme of this year’s conference, which will assess both the clinical and financial aspects of telemedicine, is “A Glocal Approach to eHealth.” Topics include lessons learned by the military, the future of remote monitoring, and expanding telehealth in emerging markets.
