WHAT: UPMC orthopaedic surgeon Stephen Conti, M.D., his family and fellow foot-care professionals celebrate their 11th annual non-profit Our Hearts to Your Soles initiative.

Partnering with Red Wing Shoe Company and Superfeet, Conti and his colleagues around the country are prepared to give some 6,000 donated Red Wing shoes and 8,000 pairs of socks to disadvantaged and homeless people across more than 20 U.S. cities as part of an array of free foot and health care. Pitt students will help fit each person with a pair of shoes, and Superfeet will provide orthotics to those who need them for specific conditions.

Similar to a health fair, UPMC along with Our Hearts to Your Soles and Catholic Charities will provide examinations by foot and ankle specialists, orthopaedic care, socks, professional fittings for new boots, food and more.

WHO:

• Dr. Stephen Conti, nationally known UPMC orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon
• Prosthetic and orthotic students from the University of Pittsburgh
• Colaizzi Pedorthic Center staff
• Up to 300 people via local missions, ministries and charities

WHEN: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18
