WHAT: Passavant Hospital Foundation is hosting the 4th Annual 8K Scrub Run/Walk. A 4K option also is available. Participants can run in their scrubs and enter the “Best Dressed Scrubs” contest. Raffles, prizes, refreshments and an award ceremony will be held after the race. Strollers, wheelchairs and pets are welcome. Registration cost is $12 for the 4K and $30 for the 8K. Payment can be made with cash, check or credit card.
WHY: Proceeds from the Scrub Run/Walk help support the Foundation’s programs at UPMC Passavant’s McCandless and Cranberry campuses. The Foundation works to advance health and wellness at the hospital and throughout the community through education, outreach and grant making. Projects include such things as grants to train police in handling domestic violence calls and to the American Heart Association to fund CPR training programs for middle school students.
