WHAT: After a year of festivities, the celebration of UPMC Shadyside’s 150th anniversary will culminate with the burial of a time capsule next to the hospital’s Japanese garden.
 
WHY: UPMC Shadyside has been serving the community since 1866 by offering primary medical care in a broad range of specialties. Employees and friends of UPMC Shadyside and the Shadyside Hospital Foundation have been collecting items for the time capsule throughout the year that reflect the hospital’s rich history of excellence in patient care and physician and nursing education.
