WHAT: In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, several players from the Pittsburgh Steelers will put their culinary skills to the test at the 9th annual healthy cooking demonstration at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC. They will join the Magee nutrition and culinary staff to prepare two healthy dishes, team-competition style, for breast cancer patients and survivors, demonstrating how simple it can be to prepare foods that are delicious and nutritious.
WHO:
- James Conner, Arthur Moats, Stephon Tuitt, B.J. Finney, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Farrington Huguenin of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- Current and former patients of the Magee-Womens Breast Cancer Program, part of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
- Magee nutrition and culinary staff.
WHEN: 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24
WHERE: Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, 300 Halket St., Oakland.
WHY: The Magee-Womens Breast Cancer Program of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center stresses the importance of good nutrition to breast cancer survival. Maintaining a healthy weight and eating a healthy diet promotes overall health and may protect individuals against the disease.
The Pittsburgh Steelers join the National Football League and its teams in its promotion of A Crucial Catch campaign, which is an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer screenings.
