Leslie C. Davis Appointed President Of Magee-Womens Hospital
PITTSBURGH, July 15, 2004 William Pietragallo III, chairman of the board of directors, Magee-Womens Hospital, and Elizabeth Concordia, senior vice president, Academic and Community Hospitals, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, announced today that Leslie C. Davis has been appointed president of Magee-Womens Hospital. She will assume the position on September 1, 2004.
In making this announcement, Ms. Concordia said, Ms. Davis brings us an in-depth understanding and perspective of the challenges and opportunities in both academic and community hospital operations.
I feel it is a privilege and challenge to lead Magee into the 21st century, said Ms. Davis. I am joining one of the nations leading health care organizations and my goal is to maintain and expand Magees greatness into new areas of womens and infants health.
Ms. Davis has more than 20 years of experience in health care, with particular emphasis on operations and developing businesses and services. Most recently, she served as president of Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, which is part of Tenet Healthcare Corporation. A native of Long Island, Ms. Davis began her career at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York. She subsequently spent 13 years with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia in positions of increasing responsibility, including vice president, clinical affiliations/ambulatory programs. She also has served as chief operating officer of Presbyterian Medical Center of Philadelphia, before joining the University of Pennsylvania Health System, where she eventually became chief marketing and planning officer. She joined Tenet Pennsylvania in 2002.
A graduate of the University of South Florida, Ms. Davis earned a masters degree in business education from the John F. Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University.
