Pitt School of Dental Medicine’s 10th Annual Dean’s Scholarship Ball Scheduled

PITTSBURGH, March 23, 2010 – The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine’s 10th annual Dean’s Scholarship Ball is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Saturday, April 10, at the Senator John Heinz History Center, 1212 Smallman St., Strip District.

Proceeds from this black-tie fundraiser provide tuition support to deserving dental students. The Ball was initiated in 2001 by Thomas W. Braun, D.M.D., Ph.D., dean of the School of Dental Medicine. In consultation with a scholarship advisory committee, the dean selects outstanding students for this prestigious award.

“The Scholarship Ball is a great opportunity for us to experience an elegant night out with our friends and colleagues while providing a great service to the dentists of the future,” said Dr. Braun.

Sponsors of the 2010 Scholarship Ball include Highmark, United Concordia, UPMC, Eastern Dentists Insurance Company (EDIC) and PNC.

Rick Sebak, WQED producer, will serve as this year’s special guest and speaker. Mr. Sebak is known for his documentaries that celebrate various aspects of modern American life and the unexpected charms of Pittsburgh.
