UPMC CancerCenter at UPMC Passavant to Host a Celebration of Survivorship

MCCANDLESS, June 27, 2013 – For the second consecutive year, cancer survivors treated at UPMC Passavant will come together for a day of hope and celebration. The two-day event, A Celebration of Survivorship: Living in Full Bloom, will be held from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, June 28, and 9:15 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 29, at Passavant Hospital Foundation Conference Center and Legacy Theatre, located at 700 Cumberland Woods Drive, Allison Park.
Presented by UPMC CancerCenter at UPMC Passavant, in collaboration with the Passavant Hospital Foundation, the event will bring together about 500 cancer survivors and UPMC CancerCenter physicians and staff for two days of support, strength, entertainment, laughter and hope.
As part of the UPMC CancerCenter network, UPMC CancerCenter at UPMC Passavant is an associated program of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, the region's only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Our radiation oncologists and surgical oncologists work with our network of medical oncologists in the north to offer cancer patients advanced diagnosis and treatment close to home. Patients benefit from a team approach and have access to support services, such as nutrition counseling, stress management and support groups.
