WHY: Research has shown that many people do not understand where head and neck cancers are, what causes them, and how they are diagnosed. Head and neck cancers include cancers of the mouth, throat, voice box, skin, sinuses, saliva glands, and thyroid glands. As a part of Oral, Head, and Neck Cancer Awareness week, these free screenings are intended to help prevent and diagnose cancer that may otherwise go undetected.
