​UPMC Otolaryngologist Establishes New Practice in Punxsutawney, Brings World-Class Ear, Nose and Throat Care to the Region

PITTSBURGH, June 19, 2014 - Eyad Khabbaz, M.D., has opened a new practice and will see adult and pediatric patients within the UPMC Department of Otolaryngology, located at Punxsutawney Area Hospital (PAH), Suite 2600, 81 Hillcrest Drive, Punxsutawney.
Dr. Khabbaz recently joined UPMC as an associate clinical professor with the nationally ranked UPMC Otolaryngology Services Division.  UPMC, through its physician practice division known as University of Pittsburgh Physicians is now operating the former practice of Ralph Lewis, M.D.
“Punxsutawney Area Hospital is thrilled to partner with UPMC to not only restore local services but to also provide the residents of our community services of this caliber, linked with the prestigious University of Pittsburgh Medical Center,” said PAH CEO Daniel D. Blough, Jr.
Dr. Khabbaz is committed to providing exceptional patient care and will strive to see new otolaryngology patients within 72 hours.
Dr. Khabbaz specializes in surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid diseases; minimally invasive sinus surgery; microscopic vocal cord surgery; microscopic ear surgery; and treatment of laryngeal cancer.
Dr. Khabbaz belongs to the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery; American Rhinologic Society; the Syrian Society of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery; and the Syrian Medical Association, Damascus Branch. He received his medical training at Damascus University, Damascus, Syria.
