Difficult Conversations: Talking About the Future, Today

WHAT: The UPMC Palliative and Supportive Institute is sponsoring the Third Annual Palliative Care Conference. The theme for this year’s community and family member seminar session is “Difficult Conversations: Talking About the Future, Today.”
WHO: Guest speakers Peggy Stubbs and Betty Karleski from Take Charge of Your Life, along with experts from the UPMC Palliative and Supportive Institute and the Supportive Care Program at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
WHEN: 7:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Saturday, April 5

WHY: Having conversations with your loved ones about the end of their lives is often a difficult discussion to have. During a half-day seminar open to the public, UPMC officials and guest speakers will explore end-of-life planning, advance directives, talking with family members who are experiencing a serious illness and other topics.
