Pittsburgh’s Disadvantaged to Receive Free Foot Care, Socks and Shoes in 10th Annual ‘Our Hearts to Your Soles’ Event

, Dr. Conti and colleagues around the country are prepared to give to disadvantaged and homeless people across 35 U.S. cities some 6,000 donated Red Wing shoes and 8,000 pairs of socks from Dignity U Wear as part of an array of free foot and health care. Superfeet will provide orthotics to those who need them for specific conditions.
Similar to a health fair, UPMC along with Our Hearts to Your Soles and Catholic Charities
will help to provide these less fortunate “patients” with examinations by foot and ankle specialists, orthopaedic care, socks, professional fittings for new boots, food and more. Free flu shots will be provided by a donation from the Passavant Hospital Foundation
. Toiletry bags will be supplied by Superfeet.
- Dr. Stephen Conti, a nationally known UPMC orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon
- Up to 300 people via local missions, ministries and charities.
