WHAT: UPMC Mercy is hosting the 6th annual Wheelchair Wash and Tune-Up event.
 
WHY: Wheelchair maintenance is important to ensure the safety of wheelchair users. Volunteers from the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute and local vendors will be onsite to wash and perform minor repairs, as well as evaluate potential problems with the wheelchairs. Attendees can participate in a free wheelchair skills clinic obstacle course. There will be a special display of the Tankchair® and the Segway Off Road®, wheelchairs with all-terrain wheels designed for outdoor activities.
