ADHD Services for Children, Adolescents, and College Students

We offer comprehensive evaluation and short-term, evidence-based, treatment services for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) at all of our UPMC Western Psychiatric outpatient locations for children, adolescents, and young adults ages 5 to 25.

Symptoms of ADHD

Individuals with ADHD may experience:

  • Recurrent and persistent hyperactivity (difficulty staying seated, fidgety, feeling restless, etc.).
  • Impulsivity.
  • Inattention (poor focus, difficulty staying on task, problems with organization, difficulties in school setting, etc.).

Treatment of ADHD

Treatment can include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy.
  • Family therapy clinics.
  • Group therapy programs.
  • Medication evaluation and management.
  • Learning study skills for students of all ages.
  • Developing time management and organizational skills.

We also offer opportunities to participate in research studies conducted by the National Institutes of Health and Western Psychiatric’s Youth and Family Research Program, as well as training for professionals treating individuals with ADHD.
