Blue Peel Radiance™

UPMC Content 3

What is the Blue Peel Radiance?

A Radiance Peel is a  blend of acids that can be used to treat acne and pigmentary changes even in darker skin types.  It is a deeper exfoliation than a Salicylic Acid Peel.  It is applied in one or two coats and left on for 10 to12 minutes.  It is wiped away with water.

What can I expect during the procedure?

You may experience a slight burning or stinging sensation when the solution is applied, but this subsides after a few minutes.  The procedure is generally well-tolerated.

What can I expect after the Radiance Peel?

After the procedure, you may experience temporary redness and mild flaking as the skin exfoliates.  This typically lasts one to three days.

The procedure may cause sun sensitivity, so it is important to use a daily sun block with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide (SPF 30 or higher for everyday use, and SPF 50 or higher if outdoors).

Multiple treatments are needed to achieve maximum results.  A series of four to six peels provides the best overall results.
