Hospital Services Offered at the Department of Family Medicine

UPMC's family medicine doctors can care for you in our offices and during your hospital stay if you have a medical condition that requires hospitalization.

They are able to provide the complex care that is sometimes required during hospitalization, and a family medicine physician can also direct the care during your stay.

Hospitalization occasionally requires a specialist to lead the care team. In these cases, your family medicine doctor often helps to manage your care while you are in the hospital and through the critical transition of your discharge from the hospital.

In addition to providing care for medical conditions while you are in the hospital, our family medicine doctors can deliver your baby at Magee-Womens Hospital and provide care while they are in the nursery.
