The physicians at the UPMC Pancreatic Cancer Center have the expertise and technology to diagnose and treat a full range of diseases of the pancreas, duodenum, and bile duct. For patients who require surgery, our surgeons are able to provide innovative, state-of-the-art care.

Diseases We Treat

Disease Description
Pancreatic cancer (Pancreatic adenocarcinoma) Cancer cells are found in the tissues of the pancreas; also known as exocrine cancer.
Locally advanced pancreatic cancer Where the tumor adheres to or invades into adjacent structures.
Metastatic pancreatic cancer Pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs in the body.
Neuroendocrine cancer Rare type of cancer that originates in the neuroendocrine system, where the nervous and endocrine system work together. 
Cystic neoplasm and cysts Composed of premalignant or benign pancreatic masses or lesions.
Ampullary cancer
Cancer that arises from the Ampulla of Vater (where the bile duct and pancreatic duct come together and empty into the duodenum).
Bile duct cancer Tumors that originate in large collecting ducts throughout the liver.
Islet cell or endocrine cancer An islet cell tumor is a mass of abnormal cells that form in the endocrine (hormone-producing) tissues of the pancreas.
