UPMC East Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility

For patients who require intensive rehabilitation after an illness, injury, or surgery, UPMC East offers inpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy. The new 19-bed unit is the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute’s first location in Pittsburgh’s eastern suburbs.

The highly-trained rehabilitation team of experts treats a variety of conditions, including:


UPMC Rehabilitation Institute patients at UPMC East receive comprehensive care through specialized equipment and facilities that include:

  • Body-weight-supported ambulation
  • A unit for activities of daily living
  • An in-unit therapy gym
  • Private rooms

Customized Inpatient Care

Located on UPMC East’s sixth floor, the inpatient rehabilitation unit offers therapy focused on restoring strength, function, and independence. Our multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, and therapists with advanced training in rehabilitation develops individualized treatment plans designed to meet each patient’s unique needs.
