A pressure ulcer is a skin wound that comes from constant rubbing or pressure on a certain area. It generally begins as a blister or red spot, then develops into an open sore and becomes more serious.

You are at a higher risk of pressure ulcers if you use a wheelchair, have limited mobility, stay in bed for a long time, or have conditions such as:

  • Vascular disease
