Visiting UPMC Northwest
This full-service, acute-care community hospital serves residents of Venango County and the surrounding region. UPMC Northwest has been named a 100 top hospital for four consecutive years and a Cleverley's 5-Star hospital for the past two years.
Accomodations
Family House, established in 1983, is a non-profit licensed organization that provides a special ‘home away from home’ for patients and their families who must travel to Pittsburgh for treatment of serious or life-threatening illnesses. By providing a supportive, home-like environment, Family House strives to make a difference in the quality of the families’ lives while they are in Pittsburgh. Located in the Oakland and Shadyside sections of Pittsburgh, Family House operates four free-standing houses (Family House Shadyside, Family House McKee, Family House Neville and Family House University Place) with a total of 160 guest rooms. Visiting Hours
During visiting hours, please be considerate of other patients by limiting the number of visitors to two at a time. Visiting hours at UPMC Northwest are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for all inpatient units, with the exception of intensive care. Immediate family members are permitted to visit patients admitted to the intensive care unit for 15-minute sessions every two hours on the even numbered hours (except at 8 a.m.). Children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and my visit family members between
4 and 6 p.m.
Gift Shop
Located just off the main lobby, the gift shop at UPMC Northwest is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is closed Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. The shop offers a wide variety of gifts, toys, stationery, greeting cards, and flowers. The UPMC Northwest Auxiliary operates the shop, with proceeds benefiting UPMC Northwest programs and services.
Parking
Parking lots are located around the perimeter of the hospital and are convenient to all entrances. All parking is provided free of charge.
