Alan Martino is a lifelong learner who has never stopped trying to be the best care worker he can be. He has worked as a volunteer firefighter in his hometown since he was a teen, following in his father’s footsteps.
For more than 30 years, Alan has held many roles in serving others. He has experience as a staff paramedic, medical-surgical nurse, emergency and intensive care nurse, prehospital nurse, and flight nurse. He also served eight years in the Army as a combat medical specialist.
“I wanted to be a role model for my kids and show them that hard work and education pays off,” he says.
Alan continues to learn and grow, and he says he’s found a home at UPMC Passavant-Cranberry. His years of expertise have not dulled his emotions when caring for patients. The gratitude of one patient can still fill his heart.
