Six UPMC hospitals, including UPMC Hamot, have been recognized in The Joint Commission’s Top Performer on Key Quality Measures program, which identifies hospitals that achieve excellence on certain measures of evidence-based care.
Besides UPMC Hamot, Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, UPMC Bedford Memorial, UPMC East, UPMC McKeesport and UPMC Mercy were honored for their performance during the 2014 calendar year—with UPMC McKeesport receiving this recognition in each of the five years that the list has been published.
As the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America, The Joint Commission has recognized these facilities for their commitment to assuring that evidence-based interventions are delivered to patients in a timely and accurate manner.
Ratings for the Top Performer designations are based on the aggregation of 49 accountability measures for 12 conditions. UPMC hospitals were recognized in the following areas:
