Michael J. Rutigliano, MD, MBA | UPMC Neurosurgeon


Dr. Rutigliano is clinical associate professor of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. During his long association with the university, he received his medical degree, completed an internship in general surgery, and completed residency training in neurological surgery. Dr. Rutigliano also obtained an MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business. He is board-certified in neurological surgery.

Dr. Rutigliano’s clinical interests include a wide range of neurosurgical diseases, including spinal and peripheral nerve disorders and primary and metastatic brain tumors. His areas of spinal expertise include lumbar/thoracic discectomy, lumbar/thoracic laminectomy, lumbar/thoracic fusion, anterior cervical discectomy, posterior cervical laminectomy, and the resection of spinal tumors.

Dr. Rutigliano's other interests include the resection of primary and metastatic brain tumors, as well as the performance of peripheral nerve surgery, including carpal ligament release and ulnar nerve decompression.
