Breast Augmentation Surgery in Central Pa.
Breast augmentation (augmentation mammoplasty) enhances the size and shape of a woman’s breasts. While breast augmentation is the most common cosmetic surgery in the United States, at UPMC in central Pa. we understand the decision to undergo this procedure is highly personal. Our clinical team and surgeons provide a unique experience tailored to each patient, and exceed expectations with natural, beautiful results.
Individualized results for your breast augmentation procedure
Breast augmentation can balance size in uneven breasts, compensate for reduced breast mass after pregnancy or surgery and help create a fuller, firmer look overall.
Before any procedure, our doctors meets with each patient to discuss the surgical plan. Because the best result is a natural look that complements your body shape, we will spend time to understand your expectations, physical activity level, and evaluate your body structure. Together, you will determine your optimal breast shape and size to create a naturally beautiful silhouette.
Depending on your needs, breast augmentation may be combined with a breast lift for optimal results.
What to expect during breast augmentation surgery
Breast augmentation surgery is performed under general anesthesia and usually lasts no longer than one to two hours. A thin incision is made in a discreet location to eliminate noticeable scarring, and implants are placed behind each breast, underneath breast tissue and muscle.
