Steven G. Docimo, MD, is professor of urology and director of Pediatric Urology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and director of Urology at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1984, and completed residencies in urology at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital in 1990 and pediatric urology at the Brady Urological Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1994. He also completed a research fellowship at Children's Hospital in Boston in fetal urinary tract obstruction sponsored by the National Kidney Foundation/American Urological Association (AFUD).
Before joining UPMC in 2000, Dr. Docimo was professor of urology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Director of Pediatric Endourology at the Brady Urological Institute.
An internationally renowned pediatric surgeon, Dr. Docimo is advancing research and treatment in minimally invasive urologic surgery for children and infants, and has written extensively on the management of the undescended testis, hypospadias, vesicoureteral reflux, and neurogenic bladder. He is especially known for the management of complex urological disorders, including bladder exstrophy. Dr. Docimo is board certified by the American Board of Urology.
