UPMC Schools of Nursing Activities and Services
At UPMC Schools of Nursing, we want to provide the resources and activities to help you transition from student to nursing professional.
The Schools of Nursing Ambassador Program
Our Ambassador program pairs an exceptional second-year nursing student with a first-year student.
The second-year student ambassador offers tips for success and important information about clinical sites and other student resources.
This provides the first-year nursing student with basic support and guidance as needed.

SNAP (Student Nurses' Association of Pennsylvania)
The goals of SNAP are to introduce UPMC student nurses to a professional organization and promote leadership.

- Organize charitable events.
- Attend conferences with student nurses across Pennsylvania.

Mentorship Program at the Schools of Nursing
In the final semester of the nursing program, we pair students with professional nurses. The student will follow the nurse's schedule, and gradually take on more responsibility for patient care.
This valuable mentor program gives the student nurse time to grow in confidence and skill, while still having a well-trained nurse as a source of support.
