Our Research Experts

Many faculty members in the Department of Pathology at UPMC participate in research. We're working every day to understand what causes disease and why organs don't always function properly.

Our pathologists learn about disease processes by looking at tissues under the microscope or by testing blood samples. Then, we conduct experiments to test our theories and learn more.

Findings from our studies sometimes lead to new diagnostic tests or treatments.
