Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and emphysema are complex lung conditions that can vary greatly from patient to patient. At UPMC, we aim to provide comprehensive, personalized care for patients with COPD and emphysema, providing access to advanced treatment and research trials.
Our Approach
Our approach to care is multidisciplinary. This means we help coordinate access to a range of specialists who may be able to contribute to improved wellbeing and function.
Our aim is to work cooperatively with referring physicians to coordinate access to advanced treatments for management of COPD and emphysema.
Our philosophy is one of patient-centered care, in which we engage our patients as partners in decision-making related to their care and as unique persons who are not defined by their disease.
